Get Thee To A Nunnery

Students are in the midst of reading Hamlet.  Today, we read Act 3, Scene 1, the To Be or Not To Be speech and the Nunnery scene.  Students have been asked to closely analyze the Nunnery scene in order to determine the nature of Hamlet's and Ophelia's relationship.

After watching Kenneth Branagh's version of the scene, students should consider whether they agree or disagree with this particular take on the scene.  They should then look at different interpretations, take into consideration what they know of characters thus far and draw conclusions.
